I am a huge fan of modularity in Christmas lights. This means that each item in the display is self-contained and easy to put up and take down. For me the window frames are a good example. The lights are wire tied to the frame and the number of lights is cut to the required size. On the left side of the frame is the power supply and the pixel extender receiver. The receiver is protected from the environment by an 1 inch PVC coupler and cap. The power supply is a weather proof 12V, 45W power supply for the 12 Vdc LED’s. At the top of the frame are two chains, which are used to hang the frame from my eve’s.
So setup is hanging the frame from the eves, hooking up AC power and running an Ethernet cable to the frame. Easy setup and take down.
